Hardwood Flooring
Natural Beauty That Is Hard to Replicate
Hardwood flooring has a warmth, depth, and natural character that manufactured flooring products try to reproduce, but there is still nothing quite like real wood.
Every board has natural variation in its grain, tone, and character, which gives hardwood a premium appearance and makes every installation unique.
Hardwood can be an excellent choice for homeowners who value appearance, longevity, and the feel of a genuine wood floor.
Benefits of Hardwood Flooring
- Authentic natural wood appearance
- Adds warmth and character to the home
- Available in many wood species, widths, finishes, and colors
- Can provide excellent long term value when properly maintained
- Engineered hardwood options offer greater dimensional stability than traditional solid hardwood
- Creates a premium, high end finished look
Things to Consider
Real wood requires more care than many synthetic flooring products.
Because wood naturally reacts to changes in moisture and humidity, spills should be cleaned quickly and the home's environment should remain reasonably controlled.
Hardwood can also scratch or dent more easily than some laminate or luxury vinyl products, especially in homes with large pets or heavy activity.
For the right homeowner, however, the appearance of real hardwood is difficult to beat.
How We Install Hardwood Flooring
-
Before hardwood is installed, we inspect the subfloor and determine what preparation is necessary.
-
High areas may need to be corrected and low areas may need to be filled so the flooring has a properly prepared surface beneath it.
-
Depending on the hardwood product, manufacturer requirements, and conditions of the home, the flooring may be installed using an approved nail down, staple down, glue down, or floating installation method.
-
Proper layout is also extremely important. We plan board direction, starting points, transitions, doorways, and visual areas before installation begins so the finished floor looks intentional throughout the home.
-
We also follow the flooring manufacturer's installation requirements because even the best hardwood product can fail when the installation underneath it is done incorrectly.
